It’s done, it’s done, the wedding sweater is done! And why does it feel like I knit it twice? Probably because I did. The Lily Chin Grammercy was very frog friendly. The mohair was not, but I didn’t have to take out too much of that. Can’t wait for the bride to see it in real life, but she won’t be home for a week or two.
The "sweater," from White Lies Designs, is more like a full length shrug/bolero in construction, giving it its form fitting appearance. It’s a very pretty look. I changed the lace stitch called for in the original pattern and made the sleeves three quarter length with a ruffled edge. My only complaint is the side seams, which in lace, always look bulky compared to the body fabric. Now bring on that wedding. Maybe not today, it’s going to be in the mid 30’s (high 90’s in F), a rarity in Vancouver. Thank goodness it’s three weeks away.
