Life's a Stitch

And more recently life’s a creative adventure with some travel thrown in.

The pain of pilgrimage presented itself in the form of strong, cool headwinds, taking us five hours to walk 11 miles (18k). The clouds hung low:

We had a brief stop in Santo Domingo to stop in at a beautiful, more simple church than what we've been seeing:

Had our first try of pulpo, slices of delicious octopus served in oil with paprika:

Stopped for a photo with an ancient pilgrim:

After five fours we dragged our bedraggled selves into the Hostel Chocolatero. Really a truck stop with clean reasonable rooms, it sounds like the kind of place kids might beg to stay on a road trip. Please, please, please can we stay at the Chocolate Maker's Motel?

Thank you to all who have sent positive wishes and encouragement. It really makes a difference.

I am truly enjoying your travelogue. You must be getting into fantastic shape hiking so far, uphill and down. My feet hurt just thinking about it! I’m amazed that you are blogging so regularly. And yes your phone is taking excellent pictures.

Almost finshed my lion – should wrap him up this Saturday. Next, the Orang Utan.

Glad you’re avoiding the rain, at least. I agree with Kristen, that your phone is taking excellent photos. Of course, a lot of that has to do with the one taking them. You’ve always had a good eye for picture/photo taking. btw, getting any painting or sketching done? I thought you were taking some supplies with you. Can’t imagine when you would do that, though, you’re so busy otherwise. It’ll be fun to do some later from the photos, though. Oh, what memories!m
