Life's a Stitch

And more recently life’s a creative adventure with some travel thrown in.

Next time they predict a La Nina year, if I'm still living in the in the rainforest I'm running the other way. There was way too much rain for my brain. When the clouds lifted from the sky and the fog from my head, there was still snow on the Lions.

The cherry trees started to bloom:

And the magnolias popped:

My favourite harbinger of springtime is the song of the Varied Thrush. Make sure you click on the "listen" button. Thrushes are here all year round, but when the cloud lifts from the sky their police whistle call multiplies.

Even though there’s still snow on the Lions, the clouds and the fog lifted – and it seems that spring is at your place in the world already. Here we are still waiting. Today is sunny and rather warm, so maybe it is on it’s way?

We still have a lake in our backyard – not unusual for winter, but usually gone by now. We did get a brief respite yesterday, but more rain is predicted for the weekend. At least I’m getting a lot of indoor sewing and knitting time!

Pretty pics, thanks. I love that bird site! I wonder if there is one like that for Oklahoma. I will have to check that out.

Beautiful shots! We spent a sunny day at UVic after a day of hail and storm at home. What relief.

Oh, you’re making me homesick again. I don’t think Willow believes me when I say when I was growing up (in Surrey), I would go out in the morning to walk to school and see mountains with snow on top nearly year round. When I was older and we lived in Abbotsford, we practically had Mt. Baker in our backyrard… Delaware is practically concave.

Nice photos! I’ve been working everyday for last two weeks and am booked for this coming week. I am on a reading frenzy and loving it. Borders Book Stores are closing (Bummer) but they had 80 percent off of their biographies so I purchased 15 and between working, laundry, cooking (yes cooking) my face is glued to these books.
I just finished “The Nazi Officer’s Wife” an unbelievable true story about a Jewish women who married a Nazi officer during WW II. I also bought another 9 books from the Stamford Border’s Book Store. I feel like a kid in a candy store. I read five books a week now. Tony’s first cousin is buying a house in Fire Island one street away from Kathy Foti’s house. (No whining from this lady…..) Wish I could win the lottery.
Oh well, I will just visit their houses.
