Life's a Stitch

And more recently life’s a creative adventure with some travel thrown in.

I remember my father watching that on TV when I was a kid. I can still sing the jingle. This past week that was, wasn't as eventful as a year ago when C had his emergency open heart surgery. All I can say is, don't travel without health insurance. Without it, it would have been $116,000 of mortgage.

This past week was far less eventful.

The rainforest lived up to its name:

That's one of the "Lions,'" two mountains that stand guard over Vancouver, peeking through the clouds.

This is Gracee looking like she's suffering from a serious case of Seasonal Affective Disorder:

The cowls made it to Calgary in time for winter:

The yarn diet was broken:

For good reason, half price Noro plus this pattern book:

Japanese patterns are so clearly charted, you don't need to know the language.

That was the week that was.

So, what’s the yarn planned for? What is in the book that drew you in? Inquiring minds want to know.

I’ve been drawn to the Japense patterns but don’t have much confidence in my chart reading skills.
Beautiful photo of the lion. I’ve never seen anything like that. Must have been amazing to be there.

I’m on the verge of pigging out on Noro sock because of Grumperina’s new Volna pattern.

Is there anything you can’t do? Now you are reading Japanese knitting patterns.
Love the Scottie dog button pictures. I want to make a bracelet of them.
Had a great weekend seeing old friends and listening to a friend play guitar at Sun Dance Cafe in Stamford.

The snowflake/popcorn yarn is still my favorite.

Those cowls do look warm! I think I need one for tonight, it’s cold out here in Illinois (dropped 20+ degrees in 3 hours).
I’m also writing to request a copy of your herringbone rib scarf pattern – I’d love to make it for my grandmother for Christmas.

Oh, Graceee – has she seen the white Scottie in the Crayola modeling clay ad? Made me go “Gracee” when I saw it

Ugg, that mountain shot is gorgeous. Every time I see something like that, all I can do is cross my fingers and think, four more months till I leave the hellhole that is NYC.
