FireIsland.calm

Love that title, which it the slogan for Fire Island, NY. Hadn't been on the Island since grade school maybe, but not much has changed. No cars allowed, 8 mph speed limit for bikes. We stayed in Lonelyville, where the streets are boardwalks:

    That looks/sounds like heaven! Oh I hate it when that happens, although I’ve become quite accustomed to it as it happens nearly every time Django jumps on my lap, at least once a night. He’s so stealthy and big!

    One of my neighbors ( Please tell Chuck it’s one that I LOVE and they LOVE me back …. hee hee ) Just returned from Fire Island and he was body surfing at the age of 56 , was taken over by a HUGH wave and had a colapssed ( can’t spell ) lung and dislocated arm . YIKES!!!!! I remember be taken by a wave at Fire Island when I was a kid and thought “OMG , this is the end !” By the way my neighbor is a doctor and didn’t go to the hospital untill her couldn’t breathe 24 hous later !
