Life's a Stitch

And more recently life’s a creative adventure with some travel thrown in.

What's more joyful than a child skipping down the sidewalk? One of my co-workers told me about when she and her son left a recent parent teacher conference and he broke into spontaneous skipping. You could tell he was one happy little camper.

Adults don't skip down the street unless they're acting in a Viag*a commercial. What's the grownup version of skipping? Whistling? And why don't we skip? When did we stop? What would it take to get you to skip? New knees? A lottery win? A wee bit of wine? Someone's got to think about these things.

New yarn often makes me want to skip. Right now it is seeing my daffodils starting to bloom after a long and rather crappy winter. I am so thrilled that spring is finally here.

DNTO on CBC spoke about women maintaining their dancing confidence. Last weekend we danced in the aisles as the youth group played Beatles Rock Band on the big screen in the church sanctuary. I joined in!

We skip all the time. It embarrasses the heck out of the kids.

I like to twirl. But I still skip too. My newest favorite saying is “you are only young once, but you can always act immature.”
I love being a very big kid.

Granddaughters are the biggest impetus to my skipping right now.

I skip with the kids at school all the time. I even jump rope with them on the playground.

Hubster laughs at me for acting like a parking barricade is a balance beam. I walk it like I am in the Olympics, competing for the Gold Medal! Of course, they are only 4 inches off the ground, not 4 feet! I have fallen off a balance beam, it’s not fun!

I skip once in a while. Sometimes I also throw a cartwheel when I’m feeling particularly silly.
