Life's a Stitch

And more recently life’s a creative adventure with some travel thrown in.

So this is what I'll do: of my very nearly 6000 comments, 162 are five years worth of spam, and I didn't think it fair to count that in the total. So what I'll do, is when I get to #6000 I'll put all of the contest comments into a hat and draw it randomly. If you've entered by commenting on several posts, hoping to hit #6000, you will be entered more than once. If you haven't, feel free to comment again and increase your chances. I want to have this done for next weekend so I can mail it when I'm in the US.

It'll be over soon. It's getting close. Really close.

Realized this weekend that I've spent the past three Halloweens on a ship. Two cruise ships and a BC ferry. Not quite the same, especially for Gracee who was relegated to the ship's doggie brig:

It's not so bad, just two cars away was this view:

Ahhh, Beautiful BC. It was this view, on this ferry route, about 30 years ago that Chuck looked into the distance and said, I'm going to live there someday. And here we are.

Aaaaw, Gracee looks so lonely. It’s a reflex reaction- whenever I see a picture of Gracee I say “Aaaaw.”

I know that feeling (from the view). How did I end up on the East coast in Dela-WHERE?

What a great idea, to exclude the spam from the final count. Sure hope you can still reach the lucky commenter, as some of them surely have changed contact info since you started blogging. Wouldn’t it be a hoot to have delurked one time a couple of years ago and now to suddenly hear you’ve won a great prize?! Fun stuff!

Gracee looks likes she’s ready to spring for it. Poor baby. Yesterday I saw a man walking two Scotties – one white and one black. Wish I’d had my camera with me.

Congrats on 5 years of blogging! It is a notable achievement, speaking as one who has let her blogging languish. As a Midwestern flatlander, I envy you your Westcoast mountain views. I really enjoy knitting lace shawls because for me it seems so much more pratical (of my time) than socks. That being said, I enjoy fingering/sock weight better than ultra thin lace weight. BTW, the post graphics are really attractive.

Poor Gracee. It looks beautiful there. I can see why he wanted to move there.

Poor Gracie, doggie imprisonment is so unfair!

I was trying to figure out just what the pet area was for. So, do all dogs have to be in the area? Or is just for one dog only? Never been on a ferry, never want to be on one. And why do you spend Halloween on ships? Is it a tradition or something?

What a great view!!!! This is why I wished I traveled more before having kids. It’s so cool to see how others live and what they get to look at while living it! and while Gracee is in the doggie brig, she doesn’t look that bad!

Poor Gracee – just so not fair to impound the pooches – My Charlie Rufus would probably go insane watching the water and the sky and the birds go by. And there’s no dog who can guilt you as thoroughly as a terrier!

    Poor Gracie!
My dogs are better behaved than my kids. I wonder why the kids are allowed everywhere, and the dogs almost nowhere?

I just got married in BC – it is gorgeous! I’m writing to get the herringbone scarf pattern – but after reading your top post, I realize you may have other things on your mind! Hope everything goes well.
