We got a good dinnertime chuckle this week. Our provincial socialized medical system is moving toward systemwide computerized record keeping. A physician has access to EVERYTHING. X-rays, lab results, reports from other doctors, prescriptions filled… you name it, anything health related is going to appear. It could be very helpful, especially in an emergency, BUT, part of my organization's work is in legal advocacy and we're quite concerned with privacy issues.

That’s a very nice compliment! But the first thing that went through my head was the privacy thing, too. I hope it works as intended

I could have told you it was official, but coming from a doctor I guess makes it even more so. I once had an employee that told me she thought comments like that were unprofessional because it implies that everyone else is NOT pleasant. Gracee is looking lovely. And that’s official.

Funny that you mention this. A friend of mine has seen a lot of specialists lately and he found out from one that it is common practice to write a letter to the referring doctor thanking them for the new business. And they generally start out “So and so is pleasant/delightful/was a pleasure to work with”. I find that kind of funny and delightful in itself. But the real funny thing was that one of my friend’s specialists dictated the letter right in front of him. According to my friend, it was an ego boost and slightly embarrassing all at the same time.
Glad to see that you’ve finally gotten it confirmed in writing that you are a pleasant person! 😉LikeLike

Hmmm, if a patient is a jerk I wonder if they remark on that in their reports.
There is no mistaking that Gracee is a ‘very pleasant’ cutie after her grooming!LikeLike

Hee hee, we all knew you were very pleasant!
And only ONCE in my entire medical career have I read a medical report that said anything besides the usual “pleasant” or “delightful”. One of my colleagues dictated a history and physical report in which he described the woman as a “complete lunatic”. It was true, but. He must have been having a really bad day to say that out loud.LikeLike
