Life's a Stitch

And more recently life’s a creative adventure with some travel thrown in.

It was one of those morning dreams. Do you get those? When you awaken too early, fall back asleep to inexplicably bizarre dreams? In this one my LYS, but not my real my LYS, was going out of business. I hadn't made it to the final sale so I ran down at 4:45 in time for their 5:00pm final closing. The owner told me I had a $58 credit and she gave it to me in cash. I said "Good, now I can buy some yarn."

As if that wasn't good enough, an employee pulled me aside and asked if I'd be interested in accompanying her to France for a yarn tour, also marked down. I was surprised because I didn't picture us as friend material. I was pleased she asked me and off we went. And you know what happened then? I woke up.

I'm going to live out my travelling dreams this weekend for my birthday, not quite so far. C offered to take me to see Barry Manilow in Washington for my birthday before he realized he had to work this weekend. That's his story and he's sticking to it. So instead, I'm taking the train to meet a friend who has sworn me to secrecy lest her friends find out she's seeing Barry Manilow. Don't worry, Mandy (her code name), your secret is safe with me 😉

It seems half the birthdays of my life are in springtime and half in winter. This one's looking like winter:

I saw Barry Manilow last month with my friend and told her to swear not to tell anyone ! Too funny! Since turning 50 last year I find myself doing odd things like going to a Manilow concert. Have a great Birthday weekend! Love, your YOUNGER sister

Enjoy your concert. I would have given anything to see him when I was 14. Now, not a dime.
happy Birthday! All my birthdays are in winter! Jan 9th.

Happy Birthday! I spent (wasted?)years of my life listening to Barry Manilow. I blame my oldest sister and our road trips. Have a great trip and I hope “Mandy” has such a good time, she can’t keep it a secret.

I loved Barry Manilow when I was a kid. Yes, I was a dork. Why do you ask?
My early morning dream was about my youngest child being kidnapped. I’d rather have had yours.

My sister went to see Cher this week in Las Vegas. If I had to choose between the two, it would be Barry Manilow.

I would have loved the yarn buying trip to France. Too bad you woke up. I have a lot of those dreams where things just seem to happen out of the blue. Dreams have also been a window to my subconscious and tend to become more vivid when I am struggling with an issue. They usually provide me with an answer.
I would love to knit your Herringbone Scarf pattern. Could you please email a copy to knitmusings(at)gmail(dot)com? Thanks in advance.

Such a lovely sky…I can feel the chill. I do love the North Country. It would be very comforting to have that Herringbone Scarf wrapped around me but alas, I do not have the pattern. Perhaps you could email it to me after you get back from France and packed away all that ‘dreamy’ birthday yarn. Joyeux Anniversaire!!
(My birthday’s weather ranges from Hot Summer to Cool Autumn Days. I’ll trade ya!)

    Happy Birthday Li!
Hope you enjoyed Manilow. I was one of those geeky teenagers that would play his albums over and over and over again (well, except for Copacabana….just writing the name of that song has now insured it will loop, interminably, through my mind. Darn!)
