Life's a Stitch

And more recently life’s a creative adventure with some travel thrown in.

You know when the household garbage starts piling up in the waste basket? When one person puts one more thing on top instead of taking the garbage out? I heard the perfect term for this condition which afflicts my kitchen and one particular bathroom on a regular basis. It's called Garbage Jenga, after the tower stacking game. One false move and it all comes tumbling down.

Gracee loves Garbage Jenga. Especially in that bathroom, she likes the Q-Tips, which require the precise positioning of her front teeth for the pull. She's also an expert Jenga tissue puller, that dog. She considers Kleenex a treat. Could be worse. Here's the guilty party, after a hard day of Garbage Jenga, using a felted bag as a pillow:

There, that satisfies the knitting content requirement.

I had a dog once who also was quite adept at the very same skills.
Must admit, I love the term Garbage Jenga… will have to keep it in mind.

Awww……we have that same “Jenga” problem at our house too. Unfortunately, my Max is too old to enjoy the game any longer……sure do miss the days of snatched kleenex, resulting in a chase to retrieve before he could snarf it down……or coming home from work, finding a trail of paper from the living room to the bathroom……he could trail paper without a break through several rooms!!
    Sweet Gracie!!!! She looks pooped!!!

We also have “Drain Rack Jenga” at our house–and we call it that! (That’s when no one empties the dish drainer and the washed dishes pile up higher, and higher, and higher…)

    Oh that Gracee!
Garbage jenga sounds like a Sniglet. Do you remember that word game of ‘words that don’t appear in the dictionary, but should’? Whenever I sharpen a pencil I think ‘penciventilation’- the act of blowing on the pencil tip after you sharpen it. And do you suffer from bovilexia- the urge to stick your head out the car window and moo whenever you see a cow?

Garbage Jenga – too funny! It seems there are a few variations of Jenga going on in our house. Garbage, dishrack, dishwasher, laundry basket, cardboard and newspaper piles…..
Miles also has an affinity for q-tips. Unfortunately, he’s also drawn to sanitary supplies and in a house with three females, there’s likely always something in the bathroom bin to tempt him.

I can’t wait to tell my hubster about Garbage Jenga. However, I’m almost always the one who finds a way to balance one more thing.
Thanks for the comment on my blog. You know the phrase, “like a moth to a flame”–that’s where they go. ; )

    Li,
Monika (Smokinhotneedles)told me I could ask you to email me the pattern for the Herringbone Rib Scarf. I intended to copy it when I read Knitting For Good, but forgot to before I put the book in the mail for it’s next stop. If you don’t mind sending it to me I’d really appreciate it.
    Thanks
