I'm having one of those moments. After a night of fever and chills, and making the always difficult decision to call in sick to work (it really torments me to do that) I envisioned a day in bed with chicken noodle soup and knitting. That blasted knitting. I am on the second to last square of my mitred 64 square baby blanket, and damned if I can't pick up the stitches without leaving a hole in the corner. Four times. I might need to heed the warning on this Honduran airport sign, and forget the "kinitting" needles:

Maybe it's time again to step away from the knitting and break out the crochet hook to tackle the likes of Babette. For today anyway.

UPDATE: I couldn't stay away for too long. Did you know that Alan Dart is selling many of his patterns by download for under $5. Oh, at 8cms tall, I must knit these guys' little brother:

Who knew you couldn’t bring catapults on an airplane? So sorry you’re sick. I can certainly identify. It tormented me to actually go into work. I hated the idea of spreading anything around, but I had no choice. I literally bathed in hand sanitizer all day. Can’t wait to see your gnomes. Our guild took this on as a project and knitted a bunch for our neighboring guild. I can’t remember why I didn’t – I think it may have been the year Ivy was born and I was pretty busy. Get well soon!

What is ‘kinitting’? That is one of the best examples of Fractured English I’ve ever seen.

Wouldn’t it be easier for you to call in a Mental Health day the calling in sick? Or mentally ill ? hee! hee!

Please step away from the kinitting needles and put down any paper knives. I am not sure how the “Tradesmen” will get down the road without their “tolls”, I guess they’ll have to walk! So, how DO you fit a catapult in your bag?
