Life's a Stitch

And more recently life’s a creative adventure with some travel thrown in.

What's a blog without readers? Let's start with this:

1. Pretty in Peach

Originally designed for variegated yarns, doesn't it look good in a solid? Thanks to Criquette for sending her FO photo of my Herringbone Rib scarf pattern:

2. A contest

Four years and almost 5000 comments later – a thank you contest or a bribe to keep you coming back, whichever way you want to look at it. I'm offering a 250 meter skein of Canada's famous Fleece Artist Hand Painted Peter Rabbit Angora, in the Cornflower colourway. When I hit comment #5000, which should be happening in the next few weeks, I'll be giving away the yarn plus my always free-for-the-asking Herringbone Rib pattern. So, tell me something, anything. You could even tell me to get lost, but as a valued reader you'd still be in the running for some ultra soft yummy yarn:

The scarf looks wonderful in this color. Have you any idea how long my to-do list is? I have not forgotten about your scarf, I just wish I had more time, as everybody else, I guess. The yarn looks sinfully soft! :o)

I love the scarf and the yarn looks wonderful. Nice and smooshy…the kind you squeeze the whole time you’re knitting with it.

I love it in solid. I still need to make one myself. Maybe I need to find some yarn!!! Sounds like a great reason to go shopping. Oh, and could I have the file again. It was on the old computer, oops!
    Thanks!

Wow great yarn and blog for that matter. I do not want to be entered into the contest as I am allergic to this yarn but I did want to add to your comment list! 🙂

I’ve already gotten my bribe, but you know I’ll keep reading anyway. I have about twenty projects to start on (and finish) before Christmas. The kimono is #1 on my list.

That peach scarf is absolutely yummy. If I won the angora, I would not knit anything with it, but carry it around as my own personal pet!!

5000 comments! Wow, that’s a lot of conversations.
By the way….I could send an e-mail on this item, but then I wouldn’t be killing two birds with one stone. Is your association doing the gift wrap in the mall again this year? And if so, I have a couple of girls (15 yr olds) who would love to wrap presents.

Hummmmmmm? What could you teach me to make with that beautiful yarn? Spent the day up at the mall with Santa and took 3 photo’s and got 3/4 ‘s of a scarf knitted. It’s a bit slow with Santa this year and the economy! Looks like lots of scrafs will be made this holiday season for me!

Is it called Peter Rabbit because it is the colours of Peter Rabbit?

    Good Evening –
I am a new knitter to Ravelry and came across your pattern for the Herringbone Rib Reversible Scarf. When I selected the link to leave you this post…WOW…imagine my surprise to see this beautiful pattern in coral.
I would like to request a copy of this amazing pattern. I came across some variegated yarn and have had a challenging time finding a pattern that would compliment the colors, and the yarn compliment the pattern.
I appreciate you offering this pattern. I would love to send you a picture of the finished scarf to add to your post.
    Thank you,
    Carolyn

The peach scarf is gorgeous. Love the way you took the picture. I must try to use more imagination in my pictures.
Angora is too wonderful. As well as being soft and pretty, it takes me back to my teen years when we used angora to “wrap” our boyfriends class rings so they fit our fingers. I had a collection of angora in so many colors. Wonder whatever happened to it.

Criquette’s finished scarf is gorgeous. I’m a fan of solid/semi-solid yarns for most projects, and this one is no exception. Oh, speaking of which, could I get a copy of the Herringbone Rib Scarf pattern? Pretty please? Thanks so much and congrats on the comment stats. I’m almost up to 200 comments myself (after more than 18 months of blogging, alas), so I can’t imagine nearly reaching 5000.
