Life's a Stitch

And more recently life’s a creative adventure with some travel thrown in.

Thank you for all the well wishes. The patient is impatient but mostly compliant. What a combination of decisions and feelings this past week, fear, disappointment, guilt. Fortunately there is very little physical pain. The recovery has started. We can even muster up some black humour. In the hospital I was asking about his condition and the nurse said "Oh yes, he's the one who came in with the eye." "Hopefully he's going home with it," said I. We laughed together.

Mr.Sideways is going crazy, no vision in that eye yet, except for the ability to distinguish light from dark. Blogless Marsha, Dave and Riley dog have come up for Canadian Thanksgiving weekend to keep him from total boredom. Turkey's in the oven, knitting is happening and the wine is poured.

I’m sorry to hear of your husband’s need for eye surgery. My BIL and a neighbor have both had this condition and are both doing well. Wishing the same for your husband and that you will be able to soon have that belated celebration.

    Happy Thanksgiving!
I really miss my Thanksgiving living in the US – I usually try to cook turkey for dinner that day (even if ends up being turkey burritoes because it is a workday for me).
Here’s a joke from Willow to cheer your husband up:
Q: Why did the chicken cross the playground?
A: To get to the other slide!

Happy Thanksgiving to you all. It’s funny for us to be thinking of turkey and dressing at this time of year, but I guess it reminds me I need to start gearing up. Blogless Marsha, wine and knitting – now that’s a recipe for celebration!

Your scarf looks like the landscape on an Arizona Sunset. You should submit that photo to Arizona Magazine for a cover. Hope Chuck is doing well. Give him my best regards. You can always come out here and catch a cruise to Bermuda out of New York. I went to a Berneise Mountain Dog Parade with my neighbor. There were 75 of the same breed. People kept loosing their dogs when they were off lease because they all look alike.

Thinking of Chuck and especially his caregiver…if he is anything like Carl, probably a fairly hard patient!

I’m glad to read that Chuck isn’t in pain and is recovering. I still dine out on the story of getting into the car with him in Bellingham.
I’m happy that you have your knitting to help you stay centred. Thinking of both of you.

I’d love the pattern for the herringbone ribsters. What kind of yarn did you use?
