Life's a Stitch

And more recently life’s a creative adventure with some travel thrown in.

Img_1123After much anguish and paper signing (I don’t do debt very easily), I now own a Kia Rondo, affectionately dubbed "the Runto" by Chuck. The good news is that it’s not technically a minivan but still holds seven if necessary, just right for all our visitors. It’s fun living in a tourist attraction; when we lived in Omaha, hardly anyone visited.

In celebration, my 17-year-old offered to buy me a license plate holder embellished with chrome flames. I politely declined, using the offer as a teachable moment – the difference between a gift for me and one that’s really for himself. The women in his life will thank me.

I’ve had to put the knitting aside to file my overdue taxes in order to get the refund needed for the down payment, which will appear on my next Mastercard bill. Follow that?

I’m at the other end of the new car spectrum – 2 more payments! For a change, I still love the car I’m driving and want to keep it a long time. Usually I’m desperate to ditch it and find something new. Of course my cars were never really new – just new to me. 🙂

Woohoo! Congrats on the new car. I bought my baby (and XL7) back on Dec 1. Mine seats 7, because there are 6 of us in our family, lol. We REALLY need the space. I was very happy with the fact that since we nearly always have a child sitting in the 3rd row, the Suzuki XL7s have side curtain ari bags all the way back there. And way to go on the “teaching moment”, lol. I still have issues like that with my husband. At least we are both geeks, so I tend to appreciate most of the odd things he brings home.

I thought I saw you driving by with ‘El Presidente’ yesterday. (I was hanging out on Keith waiting for daughter #2) Nice car!

Congratulations! Your “teachable moment” made me laugh. A few years ago, my husband was having serious lust for a digital camera. I have no interest in electronics, don’t like taking pictures, and am afraid of buttons. Guess what he got me for my birthday? Yep–a digital camera with lots of confusing buttons. I laughed then, too.

Nice car! Can’t wait till I can move on up from the mini van but that’s at least 6 years from now. OK I must confess on the anniversary gift I a giving my hubby this June 18th, a ropeless jump rope. Very cool work out and for 15 minutes you burn alot of calories! He needs to be heart healthy ! OK I want one but couldn’t justify the buy. hee! hee! Enjoy that new car smell before it’s gone!

Congratulations! It’s really pretty! This is so weird because I just got a new car last night too. I guess appliances are not the only thing we seem to replace at the same time!

    Welcome to minivan-dom.
Mine’s a Ford Freestar. I think yours is cuter, but mine’s bigger!

Oh, do you often take your visitors touring around your place? That seems fun! Good thing you own a car that can carry 7 people. Why do you call it “the Runto”, btw?
