Life's a Stitch

And more recently life’s a creative adventure with some travel thrown in.

Sometimes a meme is just what you need for an easy post. Did I say easy? When Blogland was busy with 100 Things a About Me lists, I could only manage 59. Now I need to come up with 7 or 8 things, depending on where the tag originated, that aren’t on that list? OK, I’ll give it a shot. Thanks to Liberty, Suzanne, Sonya and "Criquette". Anyone else who wants to give it a go – consider yourself tagged.

1. At work I’d rather write in pencil than ink.

2. In high school and college I took Latin, French, Spanish and German. Can’t speak any one well enough and get Spanish and French hopelessly mixed up.

3. I live in a big ugly white dog of a house, but it’s interesting on the inside.

4. I appear to have figured out the cause of the 22 headaches/migraines I’ve had in six weeks. I’ve had migraines for over 15 years, but I was starting to consider them life ruining. More on the drugless cure later, but it’s not without side effects.

5. I have recently developed a positive relationship with a treadmill and I’m hoping it’s for keeps.

6. My nails are manicure resistant. Paying for one is a waste of money for me as they chip within 24 hours.

7. We are trying to live with one car and are finding it very difficult.

8. My latest knitting project combines a Barbara Walker book and some more of that beautifully coloured, but easily wrinkling cotton:

I really like how that handpainted (?) yarn behaves when knitted into lace! Which one is it?
One car? Good luck! We managed only because I don’t drive.

We’re both language junkies! My schools didn’t offer Latin so substitute Esperanto for me and we’ve got the same list. (I failed miserably at German though…)

Wow – that pattern looks great in a variegated yarn! Usually lace and variegation don’t go together so well, at least in my limited experience. And it looks very soft – it would make a nice shawl too. 😀
I’m curious as to how you developed a good relationship with your treadmill – I’m still having trouble getting on the new exercycle more than once a week, and I need motivation!

Hmm – are we twins separated at birth? I also took Latin, German, French and Spanish (2 years of each except Spanish). I have a nodding acquaintance with them all, but like you cannot really speak any of them well. And oddly enough – manicures never last for me either, but pedicures do. I guess the similarities end there though. Unfortunately this weekend is not going to work out – rats!! Would you save me a lemon custard for a later date? Let me know when you’ll be in either Bellingham or Mt. Vernon. I thought this summer was going to end up being pretty relaxed, but it’s starting to fill up at an insane level!

What is your secret to having a positive relationship with your treadmill….because my treadmill and I do not get along at ALL…..might be considered a “toxic” relationship!! Do share!! LOL!!
I took Spanish…but when you live in the South…well…let’s just say the “Suthun” accent put a whole new spin on learning a different language!! LOL!! Not a translation for “Ya’ll”….therefore I was not able to converse! Waa! Haa! Haa!

I never could make a manicure last for more than a day, until I discovered gel manicures. I get one every three weeks, and it lasts until the next one, looking perfect the entire time. Not only is the manicure completely indestructible, but the nails underneath it are, too, even through gardening, washing dishes, scrubbing the shower, etc., etc.

My treadmill and I had such a bad relationship that I finally had to kick it out of the house – gave it away!!!!
What’s the secret to the migraines? You’ve got to share because I suffer from them horribly too. I’m willing to try anything.

The cause of the migraines wouldn’t be someone with a slew of stitches right now, would it? 😉

Very pretty scarf! What yarn is it? I like the colors. Don’t know, but maybe a cotton blend (acrylic) would behave a little better?

The scarf is really pretty, particularly with the soft colors and the variations in the yarn. How are you boys doing? Hopefully they have been healing well and are now a little wiser from their less than stellar adventure.
