Life's a Stitch

And more recently life’s a creative adventure with some travel thrown in.

These past few days I’ve attempted to leave comments on all you Blogspot people’s sites to no avail. Is the problem fixed? Just know I’m thinking about you: Jayne, I can relate to the Glysomed tube in your knitting basket, especially knitting with seasilk. Marianne, I’m putting that Japanese Feather shawl that you pictured on my must-do list. Mitchypoo, that creepy 13 list reminded me of when I saw rice in the bottom of my carport garbage can, only the rice was moving – maggots! Angie, best wishes, we need more good nurses. Allena, Yumm, I can smell those buns here in Vancouver. There are more but my battery is about to die.

I’m taking Angie’s advice to pepper my projects with some instant gratification. This is a narrower version of the Midwest Moonlight scarf from Scarf Style, a la Blogless Marsha, who alternated her solid squares with stockinette. I’m using the periwinkle variegated cotton yarn from my last post:

I have problems commenting on Blogspot occasionally too – also Blog City – but just sometimes. Like the problem comes and goes. Very annoying.
Lovely scarf – I completely passed by that pattern in the book but I love it whenever I see a real knitter working on it.

That is truly lovely and a good punctuation to a longer project. It looks a bit like Stephanie’s boring baby blanket which I knit out of now discontinued Sirdar Breeze. Yummy. You’re much smarter to do the scarf thing.

    Hi,
I wasn’t aware that people were having trouble commenting but ewwww about the maggots!

So Blogger is having fits, huh? I think I’ll tell myself that’s why no one has been commenting–surely it can’t be that I am uninspiring, right? I have similar frustration when I try to respond to comments. Blogger does not make it easy. Unless I have an email address already, or I can find one on the commentor’s blog, I can’t respond.

I’ve been having the same problem for the last week or so, I think. Even with the anonymous setting, I can’t comment. Your Midwest Moonlight is looking good. It’s such a fun pattern to knit, too.

    Hi Li,
Thanks for the mention. Yes…the Glysomed. It’s great stuff. I slather it on my hands before I put on the latex gloves for dyeing, and then my hands come out nice afterward for knitting. I use a lot of that stuff.
Mmm…I bought a skein of SeaSilk (HandMaiden right?) from a fellow blogger who was having a “fire sale” to pay off bills. It came last week, and goodness that it nice stuff. It just wants to be looked at and admired right now, but later on it will speak to me about what it wants to be. I am so distracted by dyeing and etsy and all of that that I’m barely knitting anyway. Sigh.
Hope that email helped you out.
    I totally agree about instant-gratification-knitting.

I thought Blogger only hated me! I haven’t been able to comment for about a week. I’ve taken to emailing the people I know well and just sending good vibes to the others. Love the scarf – good marriage of pattern and yarn.
