Life's a Stitch

And more recently life’s a creative adventure with some travel thrown in.

PineappleherringboneI’m sure some of you could use a break from the Slovakia coverage, besides I’m dying to show off Eyeleen’s Herringbone Rib scarf, cleverly wrapped around a pineapple. Who would have thought… great presentation. The scarf is drop dead gorgeous if you ask me, of course I’m biased. She did six pattern repeats, using a lighter weight yarn, details on her blog Knitting by Eye.

I’m still getting steady requests for the pattern, still available for the price of a comment. Photos of the finished product are greatly appreciated and will be added to the gallery on my sidebar.

What beautiful colors – I’ve never heard of that yarn. I have yet to see a yarn that isn’t wonderful in your scarf pattern.

Interesting colorway; that looks so warm and cozy! I would love a copy of the pattern, please! It might be my next project, depending on how long it takes me to decide on a yarn! 🙂

The scarf is lovely. I’d really like to have the pattern. My husband has asked for a scarf and I think he would appreciate this particular one.

Oh I truly enjoyed reading about your vacation (so far). Such beautiful country and wonderful stories. The two ladies who were held in a prison camp – what beauty they possess. I loved your description of feeling like a burrito (that cracked me up). Your description of the two ladies with white soft serve hair and their smiles removing the iciness was so clear I could just picture them. And the fire alarm – too funny.
Your knitting is gorgeous as are you and your family. Thanks for sharing it all. I’m off to shlopp gutt (spelling?) and I’m of German descent. laughing

I happened upon your blog by chance. I’m a fairly new knitter and would love to try your scarf. I’m just finishing my first pair of socks and learning on two circular needles. Have a great holiday. Karen

I would love to have a copy of the pattern! I had to look closely when you said “wrapped around a pineapple” but then I saw the wee little guy! Is that what happens when you plant the top of a pineapple?

Hi Li, I personally haven’t mind the Slovakia coverage but then I like to travel, even if vicariously!
I am so impressed with Eyeleen’s scarf, though, that I just had to email and get the pattern. I have some beautiful Lorna’s Laces that I think will look beautiful done this way.
Happy Knitting and I hope you recover from your travel withdrawal soon.

Hi ! I discovered your blog and I’m very interessed with this pattern, because i’d like to make a ribbed scarf for my boy friend, and this one looks very beautiful. I knit very slowly, it takes me two months, most of the times, to make a scarf (veeeeery slow ^^ ), so by the way, I have to knit only patterns I found REALLY georgeous ! Thanks by advance!!
(Excuse my schoolish english, I’m french (… and blonde)!)
