Life's a Stitch

And more recently life’s a creative adventure with some travel thrown in.

This month, Life’s A Stitch (the original – don’t be fooled by imitations), is two! To celebrate, I’m hosting a contest. So talk to me, give me some feedback. Tell me what you like or don’t like. Isn’t that brave? Each comment relating to my blogiversary this month will get an entry.

Img_0152_2The prize? Enough yummy Fleece Artist DK weight non-fuzzy mohair, in the Pinata colourway, to make a scarf, plus a copy of my herringbone rib scarf pattern. Not that you have to make that scarf, the yarn would make a nice Wavy or maybe a slightly heavier weight Branching Out from Knitty. If you win, you can talk to me about the prize if you want. I’ve got lots of neat scarf stuff in my stash and I’m flexible.

Free yarn, free pattern, I think I’ll make a comment. I’m going to make it a really nice one in hopes the random entry generator recognizes the positive energy nice comments produce.

Thanks to you all: the regulars, the drop-ins and the lurkers (that’s such an unappealing name for an innocent behaviour), for the taking the time to visit my blog. I hope you keep reading. Now, try your luck and leave a comment.

Happy 2 year blogiversary month! I read your blog because of your inspiring knitting, your wry and witty observations on life, and to follow the highs, lows, and in-betweens of your family life. (You’ve had quite a year.) Your blog makes me feel I’m chatting with a neighbor I’d like to meet in real life. Long live Life’s A Stitch!

Congratulation on 2 years of blogging fun. I love to see your knitting in progress and then the FO’s are awesome. And I am so jealous of the fact that you can go to your LYS and get STR yarn. One of these days….C-ya!

Oh goodie – if I win can I come up and stash dive? I agree that more Marina is in order. She hasn’t made an appearance in a while and we miss her. Other than that, no changes necessary.

Yay! Happy Blogiversary! My only complaint is that I’m not close enough geographically to sit and knit with you in person.

Happy Second Blogversary! I do enjoy reading aout your current projects. I do like to see what projects (patterns and yarn) that others pick out. Many are not what I would personally choose….yet they do come out so beautifully. It allows me to open my mind a bit and perhaps step out of my comfort zone.
I too would LOVE to hear/see more about Miss Gracie. Her photo is actually what attracted me to your blog. Flipping through the Pacific Northewest blog ring…when your page first came up I initially thought she was a Cairn Terrier (I know Gracie…but they are indeed your cousins :+) did a double take and realized that she was a Scottish Terrier. I have a soft spot for dogs (especially terriers) that hail from Scotland, as I am beholden to a wheaton Cairn Terrier myself. :+D

    Happy, Happy Anniversary!!
I must admit I found your site by accident…found myself absolutely in love with your button…well…Gracie actually and started reading! Been hooked every since. I have you bookmarked as one of my top five favorites!! Your button has GOT to be the cutest pic of a dog I have EVER seen….and I have a schnauzer that is pretty darn cute if I do say so myself!
I appreciate the fact that you share your life, the good, the bad and the ugly!! LOL!! Your blog is so friendly and when I check in I feel like I have had a chat with my friend!
Your knitting is phenomenal and you aren’t afraid to show your mistakes….which gives the “newbie” knitter like myself the feeling that stepping out and making something new doesn’t require being a perfect, seasoned knitter!
You share with everyone such a great mix of family, friends, knitting, the ups and downs of it all and everything in between including sweet little Gracie!!!
Thank you for letting everyone be a part!!

I got the Herringbone Rib pattern from you recently, and I’ve just decided who’s going to get it for Christmas – a scarf, not the pattern 🙂 I’m going to do it in cashmere, in a ‘man’s’ colour, like forest green or navy blue, and the stitch should lift it from the ordinary to the interesting. I’ll send you a pic.

Hey Li: I love reading your blog and seeing your lovely paintings, photographs, family and dog stories, and travel adventures. It is like you live in the same town again. If I win the contest, you can keep the yarn and send me a scarf. (I like the snowball scarves.) Love, Rosie

Happy second year! I love your writing, love your knits. And I adore the picture in the upper left of the dog and tulips.
The only thing I don’t like? My bookmark takes me to the page where I first bookmarked your blog…back in February 2005…and I always have to hit “Main” to get me to the current posts. But that’s probably my own fault somehow.
(Not having a blog myself, I am unsure how comments work…I mean, I left you a comment back a few posts (about the feathers) but am not sure if you’ll see it unless you go back there or if all comments are e-mailed to you, regardless of the vintage of the post that’s being commented on.)

Happy Blogiversary! I can’t remember how I found your blog, as in on who’s blog I found your link. I do recall they talked about your gorgeous herringbone scarf, so I had to come over and beg the pattern. 🙂 It’s so nice to read about your everyday things–like a bunch of gals sitting around chatting. I love it.

Your scarves are beautiful! I have made the “so called” scarf several times and would love to make the herringbone rib scarf if you would send me the pattern. I have some new Malabrigo bulky that would look awesome. I’ll be sure to send pictures.

No matter how crazy my world, I take time to see how my “friend” is doing. You’re the first blog I ever met. You got me over my scarf snobbery- I’m having fun with a Pandora skein from my flute teacher and I know I’ll have simple, inviting stuff for my husband’s back surgery, now moved up to next week. Blessings and best wishes for you, Gracie and your lovely family.
