Life's a Stitch

And more recently life’s a creative adventure with some travel thrown in.

Hey everyone, it’s Bry, Li’s son…

And I am afraid that the family is going mad: Everyone has begun knitting! My mother shall now be dubbed the missionary of knitting. She is always converting her friends, family, friends children, etc, to this cult that you all refer to as "knitting". Even my exchange students are doing it. Who’s next, the dog?! I hope not. When my mom says she’s going to bed, I always catch her, not sleeping, but tittering away with those needles and yarn. I must admit her efforts do show, but this "luxurious throw" as she describes it a few posts back, is over the top. Is it a piece of art, or a furry beast. We could colour it blonde, leave it in a lump in the living room, and Grace will have a new twin/playmate!

Now it’s time for me to confess. I have knit in the past. I found it (dare I say) kinda cool, and a great way to get outta doing homework. 😛

If you haven’t knit before, run away now, for it’s highly addictive, and you family will complain about less quality time spent. 😉

-Bryant

PS: Mom, when you find this, don’t be too mad, it’s all in good fun 🙂

    Bry,
You are too funny!!! I love it!! And just think… today you knit to get out of homework… tomorrow you might knit to get a girl into… um… well … um… this is still your mother’s blog and you are still a teenager… so lets just say to get a girl to go OUT with you! There – way more polite! 🙂
Either way – chicks dig guys who knit!! (My hubbie crocheted at one point in his life… even if he won’t admit it now!)

I have to agree — men who knit are HOTHOTHOT. Likewise, the guy who signed up for sewing in high school got so badly ribbed for it at first, but he had girls all over him for the whole semester. (He made leopard print PJ pants which all the girls thought were so cute.) You need a Fine Arts 11 and it’s a pretty hard class to fail! Think about the possibilities.

Yes she even got my daughter Anastasia hooked on that crocheting ( spelling? ) thingy when we were visitng in 2003. I catch her doing it in her bedroom every now and then! Must be that Lesinski gene!

Bryant you need to get your Mom to meet Ms Hart. Get her soooo hooked on knitting that the Math 10 class will be problem solving questions like….
If my gauge is 8 stitches per inch and I have a pattern repeat every 12 stitches with a knit at the beginning and end of each row and the finished width has to be 34.75 inches, how many stitches will I have to cast on to obtain the desired width?
No more polynomials, no more square root, no more exponents.
Think about it… parent teacher interviews are just around the corner.
