La Vie Un Point

Google can sure do some interesting things. I’ve used the translate feature to shop for yarn in Japan and Germany. It’s not totally accurate, but it works. Recently I’ve noticed somebody from France is googling my blog and using the translate feature to read it. I took a look at what she was getting and it was so interesting. I have high school and some college French and I could understand a fair bit of it. Brilliant, aren’t I? I mean I actually wrote the stuff so I have some clue as to what was supposed to be said. But it seemed more accurate than some of the English translations I’ve used. So, if you are that person from France, welcome, you’ve made my day interesting. By the way, Le Vie Un Point – Life’s a Stitch!

    Hiya Li… I love reading your blog and I’m from Luxembourg in Europe (just next to France)… would you be horribly upset with me if I gave you the correct translation of Life’s a Stitch? It would be La Vie est une maille. As a stitch in knitting would be une maille. Un point would be correct for embroidery.

    Thanks, Eva. I’ve always had difficulty with the finer points of other languages and admire those who have mastered more than one or two!

    Titles for the photo” “Even in sad times, my family makes me laugh?” (That is what Chuck is thinking.) How is he holding up after his Mom’s passing? Give him my best. It is not easy. My thoughts and prayers are with him. How about this title: “Under Dad’s watchful eye.” I am off to meet Julia and Betsy in the early AM for a sisters day in NYC. They were helping Ricky out with his children when they were on vacation.

    Coming from a home of many adopted children…the caption would be, “yup, they’re adopted”. We often time playfully bicker over whose turn it is to be adopted on any give day, usually because of some wild outfit my Mom is wearing or crazy thing my Dad has said. 🙂
    I agree about the translators, I asked one to do a French to Japanese translation and the results were quite comical.
    Your Marina is amazing, I am anxious to see what you have in the works next.
