Wow! What a game drive. A full day, the landscape was beautiful.

We passed a Maasai village:

Serengeti National Park was productive in terms of animal viewing. We are so fortunate to have had decent weather. The day after we left the area there were torrential rains causing safari vehicles to be washed downstream on the Mara River.
We spotted a pile of lion cubs on a termite mound:

Wildebeest as far as the eye can see:

Mom and baby zebras:

We stopped at the crater overlook at the Ngorogoro Crater. We’ll go into the crater for a game drive on our way back to Keratu. I was disappointed to have not gotten a geocache in Kenya but in Tanzania I was able to get three, one at this spot.

There was a stop at the Olduvai Gorge Monument that has giant versions of the two eras of human ancestors found in the area.

Another stopping point, and another geocache:

All this and it’s only noon! To be continued.
