Life's a Stitch

And more recently life’s a creative adventure with some travel thrown in.

Born in 1929 in New York City, her careers included professional Latin dancer, early childhood educator, community volunteer and loving mother. Married to Hendrick Lesinski in 1950, they became parents to two girls. After 21 years of widowhood Elsa married Nathan Brenner in 1991 and was once again widowed in 1994.

Survived by daughters Lilice Boesen (Charles) of Vancouver, BC and Jane Toumpas (Ernest) of Concord, five grandchildren, Elina, Mari, Bryant, Anastasia and Ari. Her love for knitting was expressed in her last project, a blanket for her first great grandchild, due in March.

Mom, finally at peace, will be buried in the family plot in Vermont. Memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations to the Friends Program (Concord) or CRVNA Hospice House.

Li, my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. The pain lessens, though the “missing” never goes away. It’s been over a decade, and I still find myself thinking I can just pick up the phone and talk to my Mom.

I am so sorry to hear about your Mom, Li. You were lucky to have her all these years. My mother and first knitting mentor died 31 years ago.

Love you all – sorry to not see you this time round. Looking forward to get-together in March in Barre. Love this blog! Are you to be a mor-mor of boy or girl, or is that secret?
