Life's a Stitch

And more recently life’s a creative adventure with some travel thrown in.

Nothing like a 24 hour project. This is what I did with the yarn from the last post:

Pattern: Garter Stitch Loop-Through Scarf from 101 Designer One Skein Wonders

Yarn: Lorna's Laces Lion and Lamb silk/merino blend, in the Vera colourway

What do I think? Meh. Way too busy looking, like camo with hot pink lipstick, it doesn't quite work. I know now why I didn't like it with any of the patterns I tried. And it's obviously a pillfest waiting to happen.

Reality check: it's ultra soft luxury and will be worn on the inside of a collared shirt, so it works.

Lipstick on camo makes me think of meeting a soldier at the train station. Perhpas call it the “By Your Leave” scarf.

I don’t understand what it actually is. Post a photo of it in action 🙂

I like it. I’ll take one in all shades of green leaves. The Holidays were as usual over the top. I will e-mail you soon.

Too cute, and so useful, too.
It will surely keep your neck warm with style.
I like that it’s small and easily tucked into your pocket or purse.
Hope all is well with you, DH and Gracee

Personally I think little scarves like that are perfect. Don’t get in the way, and do exactly what they are supposed to do, keep your neck warm.
Although it is a very busy color group.

I love this pattern but have only used solid colored yarns with it. I can see why you think it is too busy but I really kind of like it, could be a lot of fun. The yarn looks totally divine.

I would love your Herringbone Rib Scarf pattern!
I love the look of vividly variegated yarn in skein form, but I always think it looks too busy knitted up, unless it’s on socks.
