- Don't take a picture of a Swiss Guardsman until you exit St. Peter's Basilica. Even if you are five feet from the exit.
- Learn enough Italian to be able to purchase cheese in expected quantities that cost less than 17 Euros.
- When you stand on the Metro, noses land uncomfortably close to armpits. I guess that's better than the alternative of sitting.
- The Vatican Museum is an overwhelming combination of humanity and art.
- The yarn store is closed on weekends.
- A litre of house wine at Guido's costs 4 Euro and is served in a whiskey bottle. A bottle of Montepulciano at the grocery store costs E2.49.
- No matter how bad a Catholic one considers oneself to be, seeing the Pope in person is still a moving experience.
- What do you do when you spill red Italian wine on your yarn? You immediately try to suck it out 🙂

I really got quite the giggle about sucking the wine out of your yarn, but the more I thought about it, the more I realized I would probably do the same thing.
I loved Rome when I was there 20some yrs ago… hoping to go back again one day.

Stitch, Chuck is surely comforted by remaining in a country that speaks his language, and has access to ‘911’. You, on the other hand, are now the family voyager. Eat pasta (for those of us on a low-carb diet), drink wine, and buy Chuck something Italian….
