Life's a Stitch

And more recently life’s a creative adventure with some travel thrown in.

I bought the yarn for my first Clapotis thinking how beautiful and original the colours appeared. Time to break out of my rut, never used those colours before.

Or have I. Clapotis yarn, meet Lady Eleanor.

And then there’s the Silk Garden Poncho from way back when.

Even the bugs in my garden are fitting into my rut.

I vow that the next addition to my stash will not contain any combination of greens, turquoise, rust, and burgundy.

I’m taking a break from the other routines of work and mothering and, by the time most of you read this, will be on my way to Florida with two friends from grade school. I’ll be back in time to celebrate a birthday of historic proportions, as it will be the first time in my lifetime that the Ides of March will fall on the 2008 designated St. Patrick’s Day. Who knew? Could be fun…

That’s too funny! I also buy in color blocks — at SPA, everything I bought was red/plum/purple.
I finished my Herringbone — I’ll send you a picutre — I love it and get lots of compliments.

The yarn in the Clapotis may be in the same family but sure doesn’t look anything like the Lady Eleanor. You can date my wardrobe by the colors in it. One year I’m all green; another year it might be red. Funny how we do that.

When I can’t buy my bright blues or my plummy reds, I don’t buy much. I’ll wave at you from the plane as I fly the other way to Florida.

At least you know what you like! I have at least eight green sweaters in my closet, and probably six more sweater lots of green yarn in my stash. I only just realized that I actually like green.

Hi Li! Those colors are beautiful. It’s not a bad rut to get stuck in!
I would love a copy of your Herringbone Rib pattern whenever you get a chance. And now that I’ve added you to my bloglines, I’ll be back more often! Thanks!
