Life's a Stitch

And more recently life’s a creative adventure with some travel thrown in.

I am so excited. There are four of you readers who are test knitting my Herringbone Rib pattern. Michelle, from New York, has sent me these photos. Isn’t it beautiful? It’s hard to believe it is the same colourway of Manos del Uruguay #113 as mine. Their colours are so unpredictable. So, what do you think:

It is so beautiful, Michele, thanks for knitting it. Can you believe this is the same colourway:

Other volunteer knitters in progress include Beth and Shanti (see her Jan. 17th post).

Today is election day in Canada, which has a pretty good system for election campaigns. Once a government has fallen, the next election is scheduled in a timely manner. This means campaigns for Prime Minister are only weeks in length. Thank goodness. I’m ready for it to be over.

I can’t believe the differences in the colorways. Thanks for such a well-written pattern…I know I am going to be using it many times in the future.

Li – it’s beautiful. I’ve never used Manos – not even sure if I’ve seen it, but the colors and wonderful and show off your pattern well. Lucky you on the elections. We’ve about come to the conclusion to turn off the TV during election season down here!

My plans didn’t work out so that I could block my scarf this past weekend (WAY too busy with dog stuff) but it’ll happen this week for sure! Just wait til you see it! 😉

ooh – that is so pretty! I’ve got some Manos that is half-way there to being a scarf, but that picture makes me want to start over – after test knitting is done, will you be submitting it or selling it on your site? Keep me posted – I would love to work that pattern!

I love that herringbone stitch! I’ve tried to reproduce it, but my results aren’t as pretty as yours. If you’re looking for another volunteer to try this stitch pattern, sign me up!

I just love your scarf! The colorways are gorgeous in Manos and each one is so different! How many skeins did you use for your scarf? I’ve been knitting the other pattern and will never have enough for length with the two skeins. Do you have your scarf pattern available to sell?

    Hi Li,
Have you posted the pattern or are you selling it? – I can’t seem to find it on your site – I think I may try some Kureyon although the Manos del Uruguay is so so yummy!!!

I found your blog from a link on a friend’s blog “Mutually Reclusive”. I’m a new knitter, and an avid quilter now trying to balance my time between both hobbies/passions. I love the herringbone rib scarf. Can I blame you when I order some Manos?
